Dr. Zara Akhter brings more than eight years of primary eye-care experience to Peel Eye Care in Brampton, where she is the owner and optometrist. Her approach connects your eye health, vision and day-to-day needs, with clear explanations and personalized recommendations.
She holds a Master of Optometry from Aston University and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Biology from McMaster University, and completed the University of Waterloo’s International Optometric Bridging Program.
Her clinical work includes ocular disease, myopia management, dry eye care and contact lenses. She is currently undertaking vision therapy training with Dr. Patricia Fink.
Dr. Akhter also contributes to ophthalmology eReferral standardization with Amplify Care and serves on the Ontario Association of Optometrists’ Advocacy Advisory Committee.
