Diabetic eye exams are important even when your vision feels perfectly fine. Diabetes can cause bleeding in parts of the eye that don’t affect your vision at first — but without evaluation and timely referral for treatment, these changes can spread rapidly and threaten your sight.
At Peel Eye Care, your diabetic eye exam is covered by OHIP. We also recommend OCT imaging to detect and monitor changes early. OCT is not covered by OHIP, so please be prepared for an additional fee. If we find changes that need treatment, we will refer you to the right specialist promptly.
We review diagnosis history, blood sugar trends, medications, blood pressure, and current visual symptoms.
Dilated or imaging-supported retinal assessment checks for diabetes-related eye changes.
Your doctor explains retinal status, risk level, and whether referral or treatment is needed.
You receive a follow-up plan aligned to retinal findings and your systemic health profile.
Diabetic eye exams are important even when vision feels stable because early retinal changes may not cause symptoms.
Recommended for patients with diabetes who need routine retinal monitoring.
Helpful when vision changes with blood sugar shifts or feels inconsistent through the day.
Useful when your physician, specialist, or care plan requires retinal-health documentation.
